CAPE COD 2017

Spending a few days beach side was high on my wish list for 2017. Between separating from my husband, moving back to Montreal and starting a new position in a new studio, I wasn't sure I could make it happen. But when you wish upon a star, the universe has a way of making wishes come true. I was more than excited to spend a long week-end in Cape Cod, where I had never traveled before and I fell in love hard. We rented a little beach side studio in North Truro and explored Provincetown, Herring Cove and Race Point Beach with much delight. I ate some of the best food I have ever eaten and if you visit P-town, I definitely recommend trying Bubala's by the Bay (the tuna tataki and lobster ravioli where out of this world) and having breakfast at Yolqueria. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to discover this beautiful part of Massachusetts, with it's renowned sand dunes that looked right out of a Star Wars film. And grateful for this little blog, where I get to share and slowly build back. Virginie XO

LIFE LATELY // FALL 2016

Fall has been a season of growth for me and as the leaves changed colours many changes came into my life as well. This week I am saying goodbye to Québec city and a chapter of life as I move back to my hometown of Montreal. Although I will be back from time to time as we will still own our little home in the mountain nearby, saying goodbye is very sentimental. Our time in Québec was a lovely journey, filled with amazing people and wonderful occurrences and there is no doubt I will miss it.

Fall is also the most magical season here in Quebec and after dazzling us with it's colourful foliage it let us know that winter is most definitely coming. Time for a new adventure! Virginie XO

DON'T BREATHE

I saw Don't Breathe last night in the theater and OH WOW: YOU WANT TO SEE THIS ONE! I dare not tell you much by fear of spoiling any of the great story points (Fede Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues wrote the heck out of that script!!) but please trust me when I say: it's an absolute must see. Such a thrilling ride, with an all around awesome cast, beautiful photography and David Fincher-esque all around gloss. I'm in love. And THE perfect film for Halloween week-end too! Virginie XO

ZODIAC

I love this time of the year for watching tons and tons of horror / suspense / thriller / all around moody films. They are my absolute favourites (as I've shared before herehere and here)! David Fincher is one of the very best contemporary directors in the genre in my opinion. I love his whole filmography but have a special soft spot in my heart for Zodiac. Based on a true story, the film weaves a sophisticate yet creepy tale around the quest for the identity of the Zodiac killer, a serial murderer in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 1960's and 70's. Jake Gyllenhaal is flawless as the lead character of this unconventional investigation and author of the book the film is based on, Robert Graysmith. A must see if, like me, your favourite part of Halloween is scary movies!
